The Museum

Museo della Chiave Bianchi 1770

The Museo della Chiave Bianchi 1770, at the Keyline headquarters, contains the most complete collection of keys in Europe and tells the story of the longest-lived dynasty of locksmiths, dating back to the year 1770. It is a true treasure trove: almost two thousand items between keys, padlocks, locks and key cutting machines from all over the world and from several different historic eras. This collection tells the centuries- old story of the key and of the locksmith skills passed on from father to son. In short, the museum shows the technological evolution of the key, an object that has been evolving in parallel with humankind and its constant search for security.

The keys

Keys of every type and size highlight the craftsmanship of their creators and describe a history that is as ancient as the anthropological need to keep things and secrets safe. Thanks to the museum, the company can breathe culture, through the wonderful and charming exhibits shown there. They are an encouragement to protect one’s own roots and to exploit one’s historic heritage, with its rich memories and sense of identity.
